Getting the Word Out: Turnpike tools sometimes overlooked by our customersJune 13, 2011
Typically, I work with new customers in the implementation phase who are involved in product trials and rollouts. It’s easy for them to learn about the newest Turnpike features because part of our implementation process includes training customers on their new Xata product.
From time to time, I have the opportunity to speak with long-time customers who were sometimes trained several years ago. When I bring up such cool Turnpike tools like alerts, administrator tools, and the learnxata.com website, they’re usually eager to hear more information.
- Xata Turnpike’s Alerts were released within the past year, and they allow customers to subscribe to emails containing certain Turnpike data, depending on the triggers they have set. For example, a user could be alerted with a near-real-time email when a driver is speeding. If the customer’s time is limited for reviewing Turnpike reports, the Alerts tool is a good way to stay updated with the valuable data that Turnpike collects. You can find an Alerts guide on the Xata Turnpike website by clicking on support>website.
- Administrator tools were also released within the past year. This tool allows the customer’s main Turnpike administrator to create/remove usernames, reset passwords, and change website access. New customers have this functionality by default. The easiest way to tell if you may already have administrator tools access is that your current Turnpike website username would contain the @ symbol, followed by numbers. Example: mnunnally@265
- Existing customers without access should go through a username conversion process. Once this is completed, a customer will be self-sufficient and will no longer need to contact XATA Solutions Support for assistance with usernames.
- Finally, all of our new customers receive access to the learnxata.com website. This website is always being updated, as new videos are always being created and uploaded. Many of the current videos have been geared toward customers using Blackberries. There is a helpful, 5-minute video that I recommend to all customers showing a physical installation of equipment in a vehicle.
I hope existing customers will inquire about some of the tools mentioned above. If you are not currently in an active trial or rollout with an assigned Implementation Manager, you can contact XATA Solutions Support at 1-800-736-9282 for more information.
